Rhodes University Mathematics Department

Welcome to the website of the Department of Mathematics at Rhodes University. Our department consists of 9 fulltime academic staff members and one support staff member. These caring, committed and dedicated staff members are a key asset to the department. They take a personal interest in the development and success of every student. The greatest advantage of a small department in a small university is that staff members are able to give individual attention to students. In our department every student is a person with a name and a face; not just a number!

The department is committed to the highest standards of excellence in teaching, scholarship and community outreach. We offer excellent undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics. The postgraduate courses reflect the available expertise and research activities undertaken in the department.
